March is a busy month. As we all continue our Lenten journeys and prepare for the coming of Easter, it is important to take time out of each day to notice and thank God for the blessings and bright spots in our world and our lives.
An opportunity to reflect on one of God's blessings is National Catholic Sisters Week, which takes place from March 8- 14. This annual event, which began in 2014, was created to honor women religious, who serve God in a variety of ways. Some live lives dedicated to contemplative prayer while others blend contemplative prayer with active ministries in areas such as education, pastoral ministry, health care and social justice. All strive to live lives dedicated to God and to improving the lives of the people and communities they serve.
We give thanks for sisters from all religious communities and encourage you to take the time to get to know the sisters living in your local area. We would also like to share the story of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur with you through this brief video.
